Because it’s that time of the year, this is Spring Blossoms: a great colorful art print by Lisa Congdon.

I just discovered Martin O’Neill, a London-based illustrator & artist who creates beautiful collages for publishing, advertising, design & installation work.
In order to create his images he combines collage, silkscreen, photography, paint, and digital techniques. I especially love his type collages, there is so much going on, I wish I had larger photos of his work to be able to see the detail.
More lovely work on his website called appropriately “Cut it out“
Space Alphabet, is a lovely book with even lovelier illustrations, first published in 1966. Written by Irene Zacks and created for her children, who wished to be astronauts. It was sold out over at Present & Correct for the time being, but you can also see the whole book online here.
I just love Alain Grée‘s original drawing style, that is so much copied nowadays, trying to replicate the vintage feel.
As an author and illustrator of children’s books, Grée published over 300 books, mostly in the 1960s and 1970s. His books were translated around the world into 20 different languages.
Today is ‘Clean Monday‘ in Greece (Kathara Deftera), which means that by tradition many people will -attempt to- fly their kites.
This is why I am posting the ‘Kite Facts’ by one of my favorite illustrators, Mike Lowery.
Another illustrator I discovered recently that specializes in hand-lettering: Linzie Hunter is based in London and her lovely work is featured in books, magazines and advertising campaigns internationally.
How often can you get a commissioned project by NASA?
These beautiful retro-style posters were designed by Invisible Creature, two award-winning brothers from Seattle. They were commissioned by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory to design a set of “travel posters”, that would be part of a 2016 calendar, and was given as a gift to JPL and NASA staff, as well as engineers, government and university staff.
The designers were not just lucky. Their grandfather was an illustrator and graphic designer at NASA for over 30 years, so this project was obviously a special one.
Some of the limited-edition prints from the designers are sold out, but the designs are available here to download for free. I already downloaded mine!

The comic series Deep Dark Fears is a collection of illustrations about people’s anxieties. Animator, and cartoonist Fran Krause brought these fears to life in a book, inspired by his popular web comic and based on real fears submitted by online readers.
The good thing about this comic series is that you will probably find that you’re not the only one with crazy irrational fears, but it may also remind you of fears you forgot you had, while you may discover many more fears to be afraid of. Creepy, eh?

Cassowary with beehive and porcupine
Bear house (with fox)
Alligator house (with ducks)
Amazing short gif animations by Jonathan Stroh, an illustrator based in Seattle. I am fascinated by the small details: the bees coming out, the chinese lanterns moving, the asian dragon on the house.

To illustrate the use of Lady René typeface, argentinian graphic designer Laura Varsky designed this lovely piece of art (available to download in pdf).
