This video is simply beautiful. It shows exactly what the title says: soap bubbles getting frozen in seconds.
Created by Polish photographer/ filmaker Pawel Zaluska, who in order to persuade his 3-year old daughter to put her jacket on, he told her “It is so cold that even soap bubbles freeze and it looks really beautiful, you know?” so she made him promise to make a film to show her exactly that.
A classy CBS Christmas message from 1966, designed by illustrator, animator, and editorial cartoonist R.O. Blechman.

Maurice Sendak, considered one of the most important children’s book artists and authors, gave this moving interview on NPR’s “Fresh Air”, a few months before his death.
When artist and illustrator Christoph Niemann stumbled on it, he felt so inspired, that he decided to illustrate it. This video is the result of that.

People of Nowhere, a powerful film by Lior Sperandeo.
“I have heard and read different opinions about the wave of Syrian refugees who try to make their way in to the EU. Then I went to Lesvos. 7 days on the Greek Island gave me a healthier, human perspective on the situation.
Seeing the people behind the headlines with my own eyes, and feeling their deep struggle, broke my heart.
Are they the “threat” people talk about? All I saw were courageous people in a time of crisis, looking for hope.
I also got to meet brave volunteers from all over the world who reach out to help all people regardless of their religion, race or background. That inspired me.
My hope is that this video might tear down some of the walls of bad ideas and opinions we have built around ourselves.” – Lior Sperandeo
OliverJeffers, a Brooklyn-based artist, perhaps best known for his award-winning and hugely popular children’s books, is also my favorite children’s book author. But besides the picture books, he is also an artist, working with drawings, paintings and collages – I personally have a thing for his illustrated maps.
In his excellent interview for Yatzer he also talks about his other artistic projects, the Dipped Painting series and his current exhibition of landscape paintings called “Measuring Land and Sea” at Lazarides Gallery in London this month.
Lastly, a fun video where Jeffers talks about inspiration and takes us through his creative process.
On November 15, just 2 days after the horrific events in his country, Frenchman Théo Sanson accomplished a collective dream: to walk nearly 500 meters on a high-line in Castle Valley, Utah between the iconic Castleton and Rectory towers – likely a new world record. Enjoy the video, shot by the amazing cinematographer/director Renan Ozturk.
My girls were never too crazy about Barbie, but I was happy to see that after 59 years, Mattel finally gets it right: the new Barbie ad finally changes strategy and starts encouraging little girls to “imagine the possibilities”, when they follow their dreams and career goals. Maybe if they also changed those awful Barbie movies, it would really make a difference!
“Bodies are built for motion — not for stillness”. As someone who sits for long hours while working on the computer, this video touches a nerve with me personally. It actually explains what happens to our body and our health when we sit all the time.
How would great vintage book covers look like, when set in motion? Henning M. Lederer takes 55 relatively unknown books from the 50’s to the 70’s and brings them to life by animating their bold abstract and geometric covers. Hypnotisingly beautiful.
